The Paul Hogarth Company at Design for Planet

Green and Blue Design

Design for Planet was a major event hosted by the Design Council in November 2021, to coincide with the COP26 Climate Change Conference. Design for Planet brought together 100 of the UK’s leading designers at the iconic setting of the V&A Museum, Dundee. There, they were joined online by 100s of international participants to reflect upon the vital role of design in addressing the climate and biodiversity crisis.

The Paul Hogarth Company was honoured to accept an invitation to talk at the conference on the topic of Green and Blue Design. Our directors Anthony and James were able to share the experience and expertise of our practice in working with natural systems and communities, to create truly sustainable places. Another of our directors Andrew was also in attendance as Chair of the Ministerial Advisory Group for Architecture and the Built Environment in Northern Ireland.

No-one can underestimate the scale and complexity of the global challenge we face. And while time is not on our side, we recognise the vital role design must play in delivering creative and effective place-based solutions.
