Distilleries

Engaging the visitor

Not only is whisky synonymous with the culture and heritage of Scotland, but it also makes a major contribution to the national economy, with some 1.3bn bottles exported in 2019 alone. Many distilleries have also become successful tourist destinations, often bringing the visitor to some of the most scenic and rural parts of the county.  The Paul Hogarth Company have worked for many years in the whisky industry, helping to manage growth in sensitive landscapes while ensuring the best possible experience for the discerning visitor.

Each whisky has its own story to tell and its own special relationship with the land from which it is sourced

The design and ongoing management of our estate landscape reflects and reinforces the premium quality of The Macallan brand.

Each whisky has its own story to tell and its own special relationship with the land from which it is sourced.  The Paul Hogarth Company has been able to provide high quality, bespoke solutions for each, drawing upon its skills in landscape design and interpretation, as well as Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment. So, whether it is upon the wind-swept island of Islay, the highland estate of The Macallan or the lowland garden of Glenkinchie, the unique qualities of these landscapes await the visitor.
