The public realm strategy was part of a £10m masterplan to regenerate Kirkham’s historic core. Developed in consultation with the local community, the pedestrian focused design has been praised by Historic England as an exemplary scheme, having a transformative effect not only to the streetscape through the planting of 23 street trees but also generating increased footfall and better revenue streams for Kirkham’s business.
